David Koo, CPA, CA
David brings financial clarity. First he works hard to understand your business, then he reports in a way you understand. Painting a clear picture, highlighting the areas that most need attention, and offering actionable solutions.
David started his career at Ernst & Young, providing assurance services while working on his Chartered Accountant designation. He had the opportunity to serve clients across industries as diverse as manufacturing, mining, technology, retail and telecom.
From there, David moved to private industry, managing finance operations and providing business planning leadership in the telecom, finance and digital industries. He also founded and managed his own successful retail and wholesale business, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges entrepreneurs face and the key elements they need to have in place to succeed.
Most recently, David led Finance and Business Planning for one of Canada’s largest digital media publishers. He helped to build the business, develop strategy, and hire the team responsible for tripling revenues over a 3 year period.
Jeremy Blumer, CPA, CA
Jeremy has a long track record of successful team leadership. His exposure to accounting and finance in professional service, manufacturing, high technology and regulated environments, as well as experience in public and private companies, provides a strong background to draw from when tackling operational problems and delivering sustainable solutions.
Jeremy’s career began at Ernst & Young, where he earned his Chartered Accountant designation and serviced clients in both private and public reporting environments, in industries ranging from manufacturing to retail to technology to not-for-profits.
From there Jeremy moved into industry, gaining experience in large manufacturing, insurance and software environments, with responsibility over accounting, planning and analysis, treasury and IT. Most notably, Jeremy had the opportunity to support a company as it went public, building the company’s budgeting, planning and reporting process from the ground up, and leading the accounting team through a major acquisition.
Most recently, Jeremy headed the accounting function for one of Canada’s largest technology companies. This involved:
- Managing a complex, global financial compliance environment
- Minor and major corporate acquisitions and disposals
- Multiple corporate and system integrations
- All areas of accounting, statutory audit and compliance in over 35 countries and over 130 legal entities
- Regional planning; analysis and outsourcing
- Ultimately, communicating results and providing recommendations to senior management.
